Upcoming Games, Movies And Gadgets This Fall

Well that’s another summer over, and now we move into my favorite season. Fall is the time when the best video games and gadgets are released, as companies seek to profit from the Christmas rush. And even in the movie world, the silliness of the summer blockbuster is over, and hardcore geeks can enjoy the best films. Without further ado, let’s look at the best of the coming season.

Movies

The 19 Best Movies to Watch in Fall 2017

Boosted by the success of 2015’s The Force Awakens, the new generation of Daisy Ridley and John Boyega return for the eighth instalment of Stars Wars, in The Last Jedi. We can’t wait to see if the rumors that Luke will turn out to be Rey’s father are true. Hopefully Kylo Ren will get his comeuppance, and can we have more Captain Phasma, please? With a release date of December 15th, our pre-Christmas movie binge is sorted.

It may have taken 35 years, but Blade Runner finally has its sequel, set in the year 2049. Harrison Ford reprises his role as hard-drinking Rick Deckard, helping new Bladerunner Ryan Gosling solve a mystery which could destroy humanity. The rest of the plot is a closely-guarded secret, but we do know that Jared Leto’s character is creating a new breed of androids, which are most likely up to no good. The trailers look beautiful and exciting and we eagerly look forward to October 6th for some Replicant fun.

Justice League is out on November 17th and promises to be DC’s boldest and biggest attempt at a shared universe film. Bringing together Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, the Flash and Cyborg in one movie is certainly ambitious but if they can pull it off then it will be a sure-fire hit. Wonder Woman’s rise up the box office charts in 2017 suggests that it might just be possible.

Games

The 19 most anticipated video games of the 2017 holiday season

With the success of The Man in the High Castle on TV, alternative history is all the rage at the moment. The Bethesda studio are getting in on the act with Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, a brilliant reinvention of the 90’s shooter hit. This time round, the US is under the control of the evil Nazis, but muscle-headed action man BJ Blazkowicz is back to lead the resistance. The previews are awesome, with laser weapons and giant killer robots, and 27th October just can’t come soon enough.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War is available from October 10th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The Shadow of Mordor release a few years back definitely raised the bar for open world action games and we can’t wait to see how Warner Bros have improved on it. The Nemesis system, which gave enemy soldiers the ability to remember previous fights and later seek revenge, made the original a thrilling adventure, and the sequel promises to take this concept further.

The Real Reason the iPhone X Is So Expensive

The biggest gadget we are all looking forward to is of course the iPhone X. The release date has been pushed back once again to November, just in time for Thanksgiving. With facial recognition technology which we are promised will work better than at the Apple demo in Cupertino, the new offering from Apple is bound to fill many a stocking this Christmas. It looks stunning, and if you have $1000 to burn, this ultimate status symbol is what to burn it on.
