Today we have a group of Smartphones to show you that you may not have had a chance to check out – These are going on sale at Best Buy: The Xperia XA1 Ultra and Xperia XZ Premium, two of Sony’s best and brightest smartphone offerings, let’s talk about these.
If you’ve never considered a Sony phone, or even seen one – I can tell you this, they are as you would expect from sony – top notch industrial design. Sony is one of the leading tech companies in the world, they make the Playstation, TVs, and have even recently started dominating the photography space with their exceptionally high quality a6XXX series – so they make well designed products. The phones you’ll see here are more of that theme. They are sleek, sexy, and functional with blazing fast processors and amazing cameras running very close to stock Android Nougat – you get what you pay for with Sony.
Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra
So what makes this phone so “Ultra”? Well, clearly – it’s the massive size! Huge size difference between this model and the non ultra model – so if you have big hands or need a phablet type phone, then the XA1 Ultra is definitely high up there on the list of what you would want. Because of it’s huge size Sony had implemented some software help that allows you to easily access all the features with one hand – an added bonus for those of us that like to multitask! The design of the phone is truly unique with it’s rounded corners and sleek looks. The XA1 is sporting a 6″ 1080p display, MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB (or 64GB of onboard Storage – giving you more than enough horsepower to watch all of those cat videos and send emails from your couch! You’ll be able to stay there longer without charging as well since this phone sports a respectable 2700mAh battery (lasting you about a day of moderate usage). Probably the best feature of this phone are the amazing cameras in the front and back – new 23MP main camera previously found only on Sony’s flagship smartphones and a 16MP front-facing camera upgraded to include a 23mm wide-angle lens! You can really get some respectable instagram snaps with this offering, only available at Best Buy – be sure to drop by your local store to test it out so you can see it for yourself!

Another Sleek and Stealthy phone – the Xperia XZ is as hot as it gets when it comes to a metal phone design – gotta love the way this thing looks in the hand! It doesn’t even matter if it’s raining, you’ll still look hot since this phone is IP68 Dust and Water Resistant – not always a necessary feature but super cool to have! Sony made the Walkman many decades ago so of course they will stay true to the format and include a headphone jack, so music lovers, get those headphones. Speaking of audio – you don’t even need headphones to enjoy your tunes as this model comes with dual front facing speakers, a rare treat in smartphones today.
This phone is rocking a 5.5″ 4K HDR display (3840×2160), Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540, 4 GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage (expandable memory up to 256GB and dual SIM capability), 3230 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. Again, this phone is packing some impressive photographic potential with 19MP main camera coming with the world’s first Motion Eye camera system. Well there you have it – I hope we have opened your eyes to a few good Sony smartphone offerings, just keep in mind that these unlocked phones work with the following major carriers – AT&T, Verizon and Cricket. I’ve loved Sony products for a while now and love seeing them killing it in the smartphone space – with the combination of near stock android software and super easy to use and powerful cameras, they are the ones to watch in the next year or two for sure.
