LG has released it’s successor in the G line, and they have made some great improvements on the previous G3 phone. If you were a fan of the G3 you will definitely want to pick up the G4 and give it a try as it has improvements across the board, more performance, better screen, better camera, better battery life! We had a chance to go into our local store to try out the LG G4.
LG G4 First Impressions
We were excited to get our hands on with the LG G4 because it boasts some pretty impressive specs! The G4 comes with a 5.5” IPS Quantum Display (Quad HD Resolution – 538 PPI), a six core Snapdragon 808 chip, 3GB of Ram (in a phone!), 3000 mAh battery for huge battery life, Upgradable memory up to 2TB with micro SD card, and more, like the camera rocking great low light performance with its f/1.8 aperture!
The Display
Crisp clean display gives you everything you could ever need from the top of the line phones available – The display is 25% brighter and gives richer images than others with its 50% contrast improvement – it looks GORGEOUS when gaming and the extra battery life doesn’t deteriorate because of the experience, it just gets a little hot at times, but what phone doesn’t. We love the look of the curve, it isn’t quite as curved as the LG G Flex 2 (and not flexible) but it gives it a nice aesthetic. We also love that you can swap out the plates on the back to give it a custom look with Genuine leather, metallic and ceramic style back covers. It also feels great in the hand thanks to it’s curved design for ergonomic comfort.
The Battery Life
With the 3000 mAh battery you will be hard pressed to find a more reliable phone for your hard day at work, it is also REMOVABLE which is huge for some people as they are constantly switching out dead batteries for fresh charged ones for extended playtime. Qualcomm quick charging is available for this phone for faster charges, but wireless charging is not. Battery life with this phone is great though, several solid hours of HD display use is possible and several days of standby time – solid performing battery, good job LG.
The Camera
The camera on the LG G4 is a photographers dream, so many modes and features in the camera to make sure you get the best shot possible. Manual mode with 15 settings and over 135 options for photo enthusiast level control over how photos are captured. From ISO to White balance to Shutter Speed the G4 has you covered, you can even shoot RAW images! You can pull of the most crisp images with this camera – even low light shots look great thanks to the f/1.8 aperture – but don’t take my word for it head on over to Best Buy and check it out for yourself! One of the cool things we noticed when trying was the improved Laser Auto Focus, it is so quick! So you’re always ready to capture the moment and not waiting for focus. If you NEED your selfie fix there is a 16MP rear facing camera and an 8MP front facing camera for high quality photos and selfies! The G4 also has improved Optical Image Stabilization steadies the shot for sharp, focused images so don’t worry about being wobbly and missing that birthday pic.
Bottom Line
Definitely check out the LG G4 if you are on the market for a new smartphone, especially if the camera is your main concern with your shiny new android device. Best Buy had these on display if you want to check them out in person – we enjoyed our time with it and know that you will too!
