The Next Gen Smartphones We’re All Excited About

The race to become the greatest smartphone is never ending. It’s as thrilling as watching a 100m that never stops. But where even the great Usain Bolt would eventually run out of steam, it seems the likes of Apple and Samsung are far from it.

They’re continually upping the ante when it comes to specs and this year will of course be no different.

It’s believed Apple is already working on the follow up to the iPhone 6 with the 6S and potentially even a 6C, whilst a hatful of Android devices are also set to hit the shelves in the coming months.

Which is obviously incredibly exciting, particularly for those who test specs to the max through the likes of gaming. But which devices are we most looking forward to this year? Which smartphones will have us queuing around the block?

iPhone 6S

Apple may finally amp up the RAM on the iPhone 6S

Of course we’ll start with the device that whips everyone into a frenzy every year, the iPhone. We’re expecting a 6S to land in the first half of this year alongside the Apple Watch, with the potential for an iPhone 7 in the latter stages of the year, during the regular release dates.

Either would be huge, particularly with rumours circulating that Apple are to double RAM in their new smartphones. Which of course is great for those gamers. The App Store has long been the go to for gamers with hundreds of thousands of games available from racing games, to FPS, RPG, Strategy, and to of course Angry Birds.

The 6S will no doubt take those apps up a notch, almost transporting you from your living room leveling up your wizard, to the glamorous castle floors in real life.

Galaxy S6

The Galaxy S6 will bring change to the entire mobile industry

It could be a huge shift for Samsung’s most popular device this year. Not only have the South Korean brand agreed a partnership with Google which will strengthen their relationship further but it’s also expected to snub Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor for the first time in favour of the home-grown Exynos.

They’ve apparently made significant advances in recent months, which could surpass the Snapdragon 810 in terms of performance, and will no doubt get plenty of people interested in the device.

We’ll have to wait to find out exactly how much of a game changer this could be, but we’re certainly excited for it.

HTC One M9

New leaked images might be our best look yet at the HTC One M9

HTC have gone off the boil a little in recent times, but the Taiwanese company is back, and the One M9 model is a truly stunning looking piece of kit. But will it be simply be a case of style over substance?

Not if what the rumours are to go off and it could be a particularly handy device for those wanting to race through the Nevada Desert in Asphalt 8: Airborne or gunning down zombies in Call of Duty. With brains and beauty, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset, it’s a powerful machine and a full HD 5 inch screen gives plenty of room to manoeuvre.

If there’s one thing we’re in for in 2015, it’s a real treat.
