Increase Efficiency with a Gaming Mouse

A gaming mouse is a great way to move through fast-paced games, and many people are finding that gaming mice are also an asset in the workplace. If you’ve used a gaming mouse before, you’ve probably seen that it has more features than a typical computer mouse. These are the features of a gaming mouse to consider for work efficiency.

Ergonomic Design

Comfort isn’t always on the top of a list of features for a mouse but it’s certainly worth noting. For the average person, their job may entail hours each day spent using a computer. Using poorly designed keyboards and mouse can lead to stress and increase the risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome or similar problems. Gaming mice are specifically designed to be used for longer periods of time. They are typically designed to fit the user’s hand and are more comfortable with less strain. A traditional mouse was not designed to be ergonomic. This is a huge benefit and can lead to more productivity. It may take a little time to get used to it, but users never want to go back to their traditional mouse after using the gaming one.

Faster Movement

Gaming mice are much more sensitive to movement as they have a high dot per inch than a traditional mouse. What this feature means is that a mouse is designed to move a certain number of pixels on the screen for every inch that the physical mouse is moved on the keypad. A standard computer mouse typically has a DPI of 1000 at maximum. However, a gaming mouse will have double that. This means that the average user will have more smooth movement on the screen and be able to complete tasks more efficiently.

While this feature may not seem like it would make a huge difference, think about how many times you’ve sat at a computer and fought with a mouse that wouldn’t move where it needed to be. A more responsive mouse eliminates this problem.

Programmable for Repeat Actions

What truly set a gaming mouse apart is that it has extra buttons which can be programmed to do any number of tasks. For example, when working on a screen and wanting to back out of that, a traditional mouse means moving to the top of the screen and pressing the back arrow. With a gaming mouse, a user can simply use one of the extra keys to go back to a previous page or another to move forward.

The keys can be programmed to correspond to any number of shortcuts such as copy and paste, save, select all, and others. Most computer users have a small number of tasks that they need to repeat. A programmable mouse can usually be set up to complete around seven tasks although more can be set up as well with advanced features. Once these shortcuts are set up and being used, it will make the workday much more efficient.

Multi-Use Mouse

Although users may not want to purchase more than one gaming mouse, they can easily be customized to desktops, laptops, and other devices. Once they’re set up, you can take them from home to the office and work trips or anywhere else that they’re needed. While you can also do this with a traditional mouse, the gaming mouse means that the increased efficiency of the gaming mouse can be brought where you need to go. It will take some time to set up the mouse on various devices, but this time is well worth the effort in the long run.

One example of a great gaming mouse is the Razer Brand.  Be it winning FPS or MMORPG games, or for left-handed players, they have all the equipment for any gamer who want to go pro. Check out their Razer Gaming Mice, they are pretty sweet.

These are just a few reasons why people are starting to use a gaming mouse in the workplace. While this mouse’s unique design may not seem like it would be an asset in the workplace, gaming mice can be surprisingly beneficial in the workplace. The good news is that a gaming mouse can be found to suit its user’s needs. Some may prefer a more basic design while others want the top-of-the-line model. Regardless of the model chosen, the extra inputs and added comfort of good gaming gear can help the average person get more done with less effort. Consider trying out a gaming mouse and see what it can do for your workplace efficiency.
