There is no denying that Apple dominated the decade of 2000-2009 with the release of the original iPhone in 2007 sealing the deal. The return of Steve Jobs in 1997 saved apple from bankruptcy and set Apple up for its best years. Jobs terminated several projects in the company and freed up those resources to focus on the ones that showed the most promise. As if the computers weren’t enough there were much more than that on the minds of consumers with the likes of iTunes, iPod, and iPhone becoming household names during this decade.

“There are sneakers that cost more than an iPod.” – Steve Jobs
The electrifying CEO with his powerful keynotes was quite the salesman, and helped push the products into the mainstream. He wasn’t their only advocate though, the cult following that apple was able to achieve continues to this day and there is no shortage of apple fanatics to step up to bat for the company. This is all due in part to the clever and consistently “different” campaigns that came from the ad agencies urging consumers to “think different” for so many years. Apple had some good ads, some GREAT ads, and of course, nothing is perfect – some of the ads were not so great. Today we are remembering these ads from the 2000’s so enjoy this trip down memory lane – the nostalgia is always welcome in the hearts of geeks, even if you aren’t an apple fan (but you probably are, even if just a little bit).
These ads were known for their simplistic and creative nature, making use of bold text and clever headlines that were short and to the point. They were never afraid to pick a fight with their competitors product either – artistic or not, they were usually quite memorable.
“It’s really hard to design products by focus groups. A lot of times, people don’t know what they want until you show it to them.” -Steve Jobs
