5 Exciting Gadgets This Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere we go.  Not because of the lights that parade the streets or because Mariah Carey is blasting out of every store in the country, but because the latest gadgets have landed on shelves, and they’re ready to be nestled safely under our tree.

But with an endless choice of gadgets to add to your Christmas list, which are the ones that should be crossed off and which should Santa be wrapping for the big day?

We take a look at the must have gadgets this winter…

GoPro Hero

Small enough for a stocking filler but big enough to put a huge smile across a special someone’s face, the GoPro Hero is the perfect device to capture the festive season, whether it be for your Christmas selfies or recording your daredevil sledging down the biggest of hills.

It’s rugged, waterproof, and incredibly high quality with 1080p30 and 720p60 video that’s suitable for beginner, intermediate, or pro photographers.

Poker Controller

Poker has taken off faster than eight reindeer pulling a sleigh over the last few years, with big sites like Full Tilt now welcoming millions of members.

Aiding you in winning a prize pot is the Universal Wireless Poker Controller; a useful weapon in any poker player’s armory. Ideal for playing Texas Hold’em – the most popular and prestigious variant of the game – it makes raising on the river as easy as can be, with dedicated check, call, and fold buttons as well as a Raise-O-Meter to easily increase or decrease your bet.

It’s the device that’ll make players the envy of the online tables, and there will be certainly no poker face when this present is opened.

R-KAID-R

Perhaps the coolest arcade game of all time, the stylish R-KAID-R infuses modern technology with traditional artisan knowledge. Produced by Love Hulten, the handcrafted box may look more suitable for a dressing table but inside is a powerhouse of gaming, supporting Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, and PlayStation One.

Available in a range of colors, this unique product is built to order and is a truly stunning product for the more discerning gamer, and one that will put anything built in Santa’s workshop to shame.

Astell & Kern AK 100 II

It seems gone are the days of iPod. In fact, does anyone actually anyone use one anymore?

Gone are the days where we have both a mobile and a device to play music, but you may wish to reconsider with the Astell & Kern AK 100 II. This stylish device has an almost flawless sound quality alongside a 2.5in touchscreen and 32GB storage.

Priced at a hefty $1240, you’d have to be seriously into music, but it will undoubtedly beat the output of your smartphone.

Luckies Smartphone Projector

We absolutely love this gadget. When it landed, it really was like Christmas had come early. Priced at around $23, the Luckies Smartphone Projector offers the cinema experience directly from your smartphone.
Of course, you do compromise quality slightly, but at $20 you can expect that. Although that’s not taking anything away from this fantastic idea made simply from cardboard. Simply place your smartphone into the box and it will project your screen onto the wall.

For its performance you need to be in the dark with a plain white wall, but don’t let that stop you from taking it on your travels as one of the must have accessories in your backpack.
